Selectmen raise Police Chief pay, revise leave policy

NH DUNBARTON — Dunbarton Selectmen unanimously advanced Police Chief Christopher Remillard by $1,000 annually, effective January 1, 2026, continuing a contract provision that has provided annual increases since his appointment five years ago. The board also revised the personnel policy to give department heads discretionary authority over advanced leave requests exceeding 40 hours, and elevated the Bookkeeper position to step IV on the wage scale to match Administrative Assistant compensation due to town growth and increased responsibilities. In warrant article planning, the board reviewed proposed capital reserve fund contributions totaling $110,000 across Revaluation ($15,000), Transfer Station Equipment ($25,000), Fire Department Emergency Vehicles ($50,000), and Highway Vehicles ($20,000) for the March town meeting.
