Selectmen authorize cannon firing with three conditions

Board of Selectmen · Meeting of April 30, 2026

NH DUNBARTON — Dunbarton Selectmen conditionally approve Revolutionary War cannon firing at school. Board Chair Michael Kaminski, Vice-Chair Dana Lavoie, and Selectman Charles Frost voted 3-0 to move forward provided the school principal authorizes the event, proof of liability insurance is provided, and a safety procedure is followed. Kaminski apologized for sharing hearsay at a prior meeting and acknowledged the committee's extensive safety documentation.

In separate action, the board unanimously hired Liam Smith as a part-time Firefighter/Paramedic and approved a $400 contract with Fleming Garage Door Company to relocate door openers at the Fire Department, which received a donated pump valued at $40,000 to $50,000 after staff installed it with 60 hours of volunteer labor.
