Board approves $7,500 in police retention bonuses, new department structure.

NH DUNBARTON — Dunbarton Selectmen approve retention bonuses and police reorganization. The Board unanimously authorized $7,500 in one-time retention bonuses, $2,500 per officer, for each of the three full-time police officers from the 2026 Police Department budget, and accepted Police Chief Christopher Remillard's recommendation for a restructured department effective January 1, 2027, introducing a ranking system of Chief, Lieutenant, Sergeant, three full-time officers, and two part-time officers. The Board also unanimously deposited $2,176.58 from spring auctions into the General Fund.
Town Administrator Line Comeau reported the town is under Department of Labor audit involving Fire Department and Payroll records.
